Management Team

 

My name is Maggie McSorley and I am the CEO with Family Care Society, based in the Belfast Office. I came into post on 1st April 2016, before which I was Practitioner Manager with particular responsibility for Adult Post Adoption and Post Care Services. I also manage the Life Story Project and the Next Step Support and Counselling Service, and I am the Data Protection Officer for the Agency.

 

My name is Anne O’Hagan and I am the Deputy Chief Executive of Family Care Adoption Services based in the Derry office. I am the Practice Lead for Adoption services and oversee all assessment, matching and placement work for the Agency. I am the Manager of the staff in the assessment and placement team and am also responsible for all Adoption Panel matters.

 

Belfast Office

 

My name is Rachael Graham and I am a Senior Social Work Practitioner based in the Belfast office. I am part of the assessment and placement team within the Agency which involves recruitment and assessment of prospective adoptive and concurrent carers, the placement of children and post adoption support.

 

My name is Michelle Peters and I am a Social Worker in the Belfast office. I provide support and tracing services to adults who have been adopted, fostered or raised in care. I also work with the Next Step Project providing an independent service to families whose children have been placed for adoption.

 

My name is Ann McKeown and I am a Part Time Social Worker in the Life Story Team based in the Belfast office. I undertake direct work with children and young people aged 8–20 to help them understand their life experiences. I am also involved in Life Story training and consultation.

 

My name is Sarah Johnston and I am a Social Worker in the Life Story Team in Belfast. I completed a Psychology degree from The University of Glasgow, later returning to Northern Ireland to study Social Work at Queens University Belfast, and have recently finished a Post Graduate certificate in Systemic Family Therapy. I was attracted to the role in the Life Story Project as I am passionate about working with care experienced young people.  My experience has included work in a Children’s Home, with care leavers in a 16+ team, and with young people in care in Cambodia.

My name is Tegan Scott and I am a Family Support Worker in the Life Story Team. I hold a Social Work degree from the University of York. The Life Story Project is a brilliant project which I am excited to be a part of. I am looking forward to engaging with lots of children and young people, to support them to have a better understanding of their life experiences as well as boosting their self-esteem.

 

My name is Rochelle Hynes and I am a Family Support Worker in the Life Story Team based in the Belfast office. I carry out direct work with young people aged 8 – 20 to help them understand their early life experiences and increase their self-esteem.

 

My name is Anne Moane and I am the Office Manager with Family Care Adoption Services based in the Belfast office. I joined the agency in 1999 and have worked in a variety of administrative and finance positions during this time.

 

My name is Mary Foy and I am the Office Administrator with Family Care Adoption Services and am based in the Belfast Office. Before joining FCAS I spent the previous six years working for the Northern Dioceses as a Vetting Officer completing AccessNI applications for various roles within the parishes of the five dioceses. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, walking, meeting up with friends and helping others.

 

Derry Office

 

My name is Julie Kennedy and I am a Senior Social Work Practitioner based in the Derry office. I am part of the assessment and placement team within the Agency which involves recruitment and assessment of prospective adoptive and concurrent carers, the placement of children and post adoption support. I also work with the Next Steps Adoption and Counselling Support service.

 

My name is Brian Downey and I am a Senior Social Work Practitioner based in the Derry office. I am part of the assessment and placement team; recruiting, assessing and placing children with prospective adoptive parents and providing post adoption support. I am the lead Social Worker involved in the matching of children for adoption from the UK with families approved by the Agency.

 

My name is Una Jefferies and I am an Administrator with Family Care Adoption Services based in the Derry office. I joined the agency in 1998.
